Port of Tauranga – Container Crane Installed Using Synchronous Lifting System RACL-100-6 aluminum lock nut cylinders with draw wire stroke sensors positioned the 800 ton container crane
Challenge:
Optimum weight distribution is fundamental to the safety and ongoing reliability of a container crane. Accurately lifting, weighing, and positioning an 800 ton container crane on the rails is critical to achieving ideal weight distribution. Existing methods of lifting port cranes typically involve whole teams of lifting personnel manually coordinating lifts with a standard pump without stroke control or weighing capabilities.
Such methods are typically not accurate in lifting and do not provide any input concerning weight distribution.
Solution:
Aluminum hydraulic cylinders and an EVO synchronous lifting system were deployed by Rich Rigging to install the new Liebherr Super Post-Panamax crane.
